From Our First Conversation to the Moment You Move In, We’re with You Every Step of the Way

At Midwest Design Homes, we believe the process is just as important as the finished home. Our design-build approach gives you a single trusted team guiding every step, from lot search to final walk-through. This keeps your project streamlined, transparent, and personalized to your lifestyle. With in-house design services, a convenient Design Center, and an experienced construction team, we help busy families and homeowners across Appleton, the Fox Cities, and Green Bay feel confident and excited about their new home journey.

Our Design-Build Process

Initial Consultation

Every great home begins with a conversation. During this first meeting, we listen to your goals, budget, and ideas. Whether you’re a growing family or downsizing into your final home, we’ll answer common questions about cost, financing, and timeline so you know what to expect from the start.

Lot Search & Planning

If you don’t already have a homesite, our team helps you find the right lot in Appleton, Green Bay, or the surrounding Fox Cities neighborhoods. We guide you through available communities and scattered sites, ensuring the location complements your lifestyle and investment.

Design & Plan Development

With an in-house plan designer and a library of pre-designed floor plans, we offer flexibility. Choose from thoughtfully designed layouts that can be personalized or bring your own plan. Our team works with you to refine the details until the design feels uniquely yours.

Pricing & Agreement

Once the bidding stage is complete, we will prepare a clear agreement with guaranteed pricing. Our goal is to inform you on everything that is included so that there will be no surprises at the end.

Selections at the Design Center

To simplify decision-making, our Design Center in Kaukauna brings cabinetry, flooring, lighting, and more under one roof. You have the option to make the majority of your selections at our design center. You’ll work with our knowledgeable staff to make selections in one place, saving you time and avoiding the stress of visiting multiple showrooms.

Construction Phase

From excavation to final finishes, our experienced crew manages every detail. You will be guided throughout the build with the same new home sales specialist you have already been working with, along with a project manager. You’ll stay connected through Buildertrend, our project management tool, which gives you real-time updates that allow you to see the schedule and any change orders for you to track your investment to stay in budget.

Final Walk-Through Orientation & Move-In

Before move-in day, we’ll walk through your new home with you to ensure everything meets our standards and your expectations. We’ll explain warranties and guarantees, including our Lifetime Dry Basement Guarantee, so you feel secure in your investment.
